The NY State Historic Preservation Office is a government agency created to assist communities with historic preservation projects. They review and administer National Register nominations and the NY State Rehabilitation Tax Credit.
There is a NY State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) staff member dedicated to assisting property owners access the NY State Rehabilitation Tax Credit. You will work with SHPO in completing the tax credit application that must be submitted prior to work you plan to claim for the tax credit begins.
