MORE INFORMATION

Community Council members should become knowledgeable about the process of establishing a National Register Historic District and its benefits. Their role is to guide and monitor the public process of creating a nomination. Clinton Brown Company will support the Community Council as staff and will regularly report to and confer with the Community Council at each Council meeting.

Members of the Council will be asked to participate in raising the resources of friends and funds to undertake the Initiative. They must listen to and respond to questions and concerns about the Initiative and/or ensure that the questions and concerns are addressed by experts.

Members of the Council serve as volunteers, with no direct pecuniary interest in Council work, and conduct Council activities in public session. The Council will elect its own officers who, like members, serve one-year terms. Terms for officers will be renewable twice.
